I’ve always been a little jealous of guys like Jim Peterik. Oh, I may be better looking and taller, but he’s the one who has written a ton of wonderfully hip tunes that everyone knows and loves. This book has Peterik chronicling his early life through his nascent career, and how he came about composing songs like the rocking and jazzy hard hitter “ Vehicle” as well as the anthem for Rocky III “Eye of the Tiger.” Peterik give some warm and intriguing insight into the music scene of the 60s-80s, which Peterik was able to survive due to his “strict Catholic upbringing” which saved him from a lot of misfortune. As appealing as his career story is the parallel world of his faithful and long lasting marriage. Inspiring both musically and matrimonially, this book gives hope for anyone who wants to work hard at being a success both in the music and marriage biz.
