The core team of Kyle Koehler/B3, Matt Chertkoff/g , Jason Marsalis/dr and Ali Jackson/dr lay down irrestistable grooves on the boogalooing “Organ Grinders’ Swing” and “Road Song.” The joint is jumping when Clarence Spady lashes out on “Got My Mojo WOrkin’” and Bridgewater is as sweet and hot as can be on “The Sunny Side of the Street.” Some wacka wooka guitar riffs think you’re in an Isaac Hayes session on “ready and Able,” while Handy’s tenor growns on “Minor Chant” and “Ill Close My Eyes.” This band puts the “fun” back in “funky.”
