The trio of Colin Stranahan/dr, Glenn Zaleski/p and Rick Rosato/b deliver an inspired mix of interplay and energy here on a collection of (mostly) originals. Delicate alacrity is on display on “Cyclic” and intricate digital dexterity is shown on “Limitless” and the subtle and intelligent “Motian Sickness.” Piano and drums strut through “Rock Song” and the take of Thelonious Monk’s “Work” is as playful as you could ever hope. Zaleski shows graceful and flowing work on the closing dedication to Fred Hersch on “Chorale” while the band goes into overdrive on “Forecast.” Good working team!
