Harmonica master Enrico Granafei shows a wide variety of moods on this collection of tunes with guests includeing Vic Juris’g, Wallace Roney/tp and Dave Stryker/g along with a basic team of Amina Figarova/p, Rick Crane/b and Billy Hart/dr. A lilting “Destiny” and elastic “I Love You” teams well with a lyrical rendition of “Body and Soul.” His display of chops is evident on “Yardbird Suite” with violinist Vitali Imereli while a medley with “Giant Steps/Cherokee” shows that he’s ready for 52nd Street. Warm tones meld him with Roney on “Round Midnight” and his teamings with Stryker and Juris on “Gentle Rain” and “Alone Together” respectively are highlights on this fresh session.
