Larry Goldings: I Will

LA local and studio legend Larry Goldings takes a trip to Sam First Club near LAX for a hip night of trio work with Karl McComas-Reichl/b and Christian Euman/dr to deliver a rich and wide ranging set. Goldings is  master of creating moods, and he’s lurking around the alleys with Euman on the nourish “Roach” and gets festive with the party hat around Euman’s ride cymbals on “Mambo”. A folksy gospel is meditative on “Jesus Was A Cross Maker” and deep blues are delved into with  Euman’s rumbling on “It AIn’t  Necessarily So”. McComas-Reichl gets featured on a glorious “Somewhere” and the team gets rubber band elastic and the intuitive read of “Embraceable You”. It’s nice like this that show why LA is in a musical renaissance for jazz lovers.
