Organist Matthew Whitaker gives a tribute to his Hammond heroes on this album that mixes and matches him with the likes of Marcos Rogoinson/g, Daniel Winshll/b, Johnny Sterle/dr, Ivan Llanes Montjo/perc, and a rotating horn section and guest church. The New Hope Baptist Church for a funky and hand raising “Expect Your Miracle” while some tape effects give “Don’t Count Me Out” an urban R&B feel. Whitaker and company shuffle through a humming “The Organ Grinder’s Swing” with the horns, with the trumpets of Summer Cammargo and David Sneider sear through “Yessah”. Steele rocks out a heavy “Happy Cuse I’m Goin’ Home” and Marcos Robinson gives tasty treats on his guitar on “Pilgrimage” . Organ donors.
