Here’s a lady that is a bit of a throwback; vocalist Hadiza Dockeray has a ruby like clarity to her tone, but she mixes it with some earthy rock, R&B and soul with a team that includes Steve Bargonetti/g, Leon Lee Dorsey/b, Gary Fritz/perc, Rodney Harrison/dr and David Pearl/key. This 6 song ep has her in front of a bluesy Strat on “All Comes Back,” and then goes heavy metal with a dash of hip hop on “Off The Road.” Some gritty B3 blows into town on the snappy reggae’d “Somebody Better,” and she sounds folksy and foxy on the acoustic “The Other Voice.” Interesting combinations of old school rock and soul with a voice that shines like a porcelain doll.
