Sean Riley brings his earthy voice and guitar to a mix and match team of Dean Zucchero/b, Mike Barras/dr, Phil Breen/dr, Bruce Barns and various guests on a collection of bluesy originals. He’s folkish on the indigo’d “Stone Cold Hands” and shuffles on the rural “ Dance Me One More Time”, picking and grinning for “Go Easy On Me”. There’s an alluring casual feel to his songs, sliding on the foot stompoing instrumental “Rosie’s Rag” or telling a story on the boogie’d “Shine A Little Stronger”. Cozy porch tunes.
Tim Easton picks and strums in a folksy troubadour style on this album. His tunes have an Eagles-ish feel, as on the pretty “By The End of The Night” and the soft “Little Brother”. He’s laid back as all on “Everything You’re Afraid Of” and is rural on ”Arkansas Twisted Heart”. He can rock it on “Dishwater Blues” and take you down on “Bangin’ Drum”. Casual corner.
