Leading a team of Ryan Zoidis/sax, Eric Bloom/tp, Wil Blades/org-clav and guest John Scofield/g, Adam Deithc plays drum and percussion in a soulful and funky atmosphere of originals. Scofield joins the boogaloo of “Mushroom Gravy” while Bloom bops through a deep dig of “7 Down”. The Hammond hums with some soulful sax on “L ay It Back”, with Deitch simmering with him on “Roll The Tape” and digging in deep on “ Alone Together”. Deitch shows his wares on a couple “Language Interludes”, soloing in melodic fashion, with Blades wacka wooking on the get down gospel of “Have Faith”. Funkified.
