Bassist Joe Policastro trios up with Dave Miller/g and Mikel Avery/dr for a collection of originals and clever covers. Of the latter, the team takes on and uptempo read of Roy Orbison’s “Blue Bayou” that breezes through the honeysuckle, while the Monk piece “Brilliant Corners” has the three shooting more carom shots than Vince Mosconi. Policastro dances through “Ceremony” and strolls through “Poioumena” while letting Miller deliver tasty treats on ”Scene Missing” and rocking on “Mojave Lifeline”. Avery serves up well and upbeat on “Scene Missing” and upbeat on “ Bala Com Bala”. Three as one.
