Intuitive mixes and matches are put together by the team of Janic Borla/voc, Scott Robiso/ts-slsax-fl-gobichand, Jack Mouse/dr-perc and guest Mark Feldman/vi . There are a few moments with traditional modern jazz sounds as on the bopping “Outback Inn” with Borla scatting over the drums and exotic gobichand, while “Kamkura” has a folksy Oriental feel with bamboo flute, violin , percussion and voice. Robinson’s tenor sax flutters with the slaperoo slapstick on “Slapshot” and gets dark and subtonal around the drums for “Twin Rivers”.
