Folk music legends John McCutcheon and Tom Paxton join singing and songwriting forces together for a fun and casual collaboration. The gents mix and match with Stuart Duncan/fid, Jon Carrolll/key, JT Brown/b, and guest Charlie McCoy/harp, with a mix of messages ranging from the political on “Ukranian Now” to the frustrations of being a songwriter on “Sam Old Crap” and “Christmas in the Desert”. McCucheon goes it alon with vice and banjo on the clever “Everything” and Paxton doing the same for “Letters From Joe”. There’s a nice easy folk feel with the fiddle on “Invisible Man” and “The Fan” and the team gets real and rural when McCoy hits the harmonica on “ Complete”. Comfy as Wallabees.
