The Juke Joint was jumping October 25-25 with Popa Chubby holding down the court with his road kill band of Michael Merritt/b-voc, Mike Dimeo Key-voc and Stefano Giudici/dr-voc. The music is filled with sweat and grits, rough and ready on “Neil Young’s “Motorcycle Mama” and filled with soul (with a wild solo) on the classic “Hey Joe”. Some fun surprises, like a dark alley rocking read of Tom Waits’ “Heart Attack and Vine” and searing “Over The Rainbow”. Not to forget is an avalanche of “Sympathy For The Devil/Chubby’s Story” that is filled with sharp elbows. Who drove everyone home?
