Playing piano while throwing in a bit of flute and vocals, Gaea Schell delivers lovely original themes with a team of Jordan Samuels/g, John Wiitala/b and Greg Wyser-Pratte/dr along with a couple of guests. Her flute is warm and fluffy on “Cava dell Isola” and her vocals are assured and rich on the title tune. Her piano work is deft on the Latin “El Picacho with trumpeter Marco Diaz and percussionist Carlos Caro, and she does melodic work on her solo of “Un Sueno de la Noche” while she sashays with the group on “Danza Nocturna de Flores”.
