Pianist Todd Cochran creates a wide variety of soundscapes on this album, mixing grooves and aural textures to tell short musical stories. The mood is almost like a soundtrack to an as yet unnamed film, with synthy dark strings on “Painted By The Sun”, a funky pulse on the jazzy “Isms Prisms” and even a bit of 70s mellotron on the mellow “Eye Dreaming”. Percussion and keys make for Asian tones on “Moon Glow” with dreamy concepts for “The S pinning Circle”. Background to imaginations.
