Danny Lerman shows his talents on soprano, alto and tenor sax while even throwing in some crooning vocals on this upbeat smooth jazz session. His warm and bright alto fits a multitude of settings, from the upbeat synth’d funk of “Berliner Bog” to a melancholy “Love Feels Like” supported by agonizing strings. His soprano sizzles on the uptemo “Night Rider” while his tenor is a Latin Lover on the salsa’d “Pepper Hot”. Playing both sax and hitting the mic, Lerman convinces on “I Miss You” and gives some spotlight to flutiest Ragan Whiteside on the toe tapping “Steely Eyes”, with Blake Aaron hitting the guitar on the EWF-ish “Blueberry Pie”. Soulful struts.
