Electric guitarist Kenny Reichert brings together a post bop modern team of Tony Barba/ts-ss-bcl, John Christensen/b, Devin Drobka/dr and Alyssa All good/voc for a wid e ranging collection of originals. Allgood is featured on the delicate poetry of “Deep B reath” that features the leader in a lovely intro and Barba’s soprano reaching a dramatic climax, whereas “Bashful” is pastoral and fluffy. Reichert rocks a bit on the stirred up “Skip” and bluesy with Barba’s breathy tenor on “Spears”. There’s a drifty atmosphere and synthy drumming on “Communion with Nature” and rich reflections on the bass clarinet supported” Nanjing”. Slow simmering sauce in the pan.
