Myron McKinley: Sound Alchemist

Myron McKinely is a kind of one man band on this album, playing most keyboards, bass and percussion with a few  guests like Reggie Young/tb, Morris O’Connor/g, Gerald Albright/as, among others. You get some funky brass on “Crowded Club” and poppish voices on the 80s-ish “Imagination” while you might think you’re at an Armenian wedding on the Latinized kitsch of “”La Belle Dame Sans Regrets”. There’s lots of romantic piano, as on “Will You” and a synthesized take of “Close To You” with some smooth s ounding soul on “Tunisian Morning”. Polished chrome.
