Vibraphonist Simon Moullier creates a rich chamber jazz team with pianist Lex Korten, bassist Alexander Claffy and drummer Jonkuk Kim on this lyrical set of mainly originals. At times, Moullier brings a woody, marimba tone to his vibes as on the warm post bopping “Empress of the Sea” and the modal title tune. The ivories and vibes float on the static rubato of “This Dream” and “Heart” while ricocheting on the kinetic “Phoenix Eye”. The ballad “Enchantment” includes reflective moments by “Claffy” and the standard “You Go To My Head” is a work of graceful melody. No one steps on any toes here on a dainty mix of ballet moves.
