Post bopping alto saxist PJ Perry delivers a vintage Blue Note-sounding album with a simpatico and swinging team of Bob Tildesley/tp, Chris Andrew/p, Paul Johnston/b, Dave Laing/dr and guest Brad Shigeta/tb. The trombonist sits in for an easy groove of “Agoraphobia” which serves as a spotlight for Andrew as well, who is also lovely on the title tune. Perry’s horn Billy Gibbme swagger on “Scaredy Cat”. He and Tildesley form a nifty front line, with the trumpeter muted on the hopping “Gring’s Dilemna” and muscular on “So Long”. Comfort foot tones.
