Saxist Marius Neset brings in upbeat and smoothish jazz sounds on this album with Conor Chaplin/b, Elliot Galvin/key and Anton Eger/dr, Magnus Hjorth/key. There’s a Caribbean upbeat feel with his beefy tenor to the sleek title tune, with synth sax creating an almost circus atmosphere for “Wildlife”. His soprano brings a reverent cry with organ and choir to “Good Night” and he creates soundscapes with it on “Diamonds” . There’s a fusiony feel to the soulful “Hearts” and Chaplin gets a workout on a tropical “Islands” with the most mellow moment having Neset plead on his tenor on “A Hand To Hold”. Polished brass.
