The married musical couple of vocalist Julie Benko and pianist Jason Yeager deliver standards and beyond. You can tell that Ms. Benko also has an acting career, as she takes on the roles of songs like “People” and “If I Were A Bell” with an emotive Broadway feel. She also plays woodwinds at times, with a rich clarinet on “Louisiana Fairy Tale” and flute for hubby’s “Just Begun”. Yeager is the perfect support here, playing a wide range of keyboards, even bringing in percussion on “All I’ve Ever Known” and humming the Hammond on “Mercedes Benz”. Each partner makes the other look good; isn’t that what marriage is all about?
