Moods, messages, songs and evocations from all over the world are delivered by vocalist Abiola on this album that ranges from Caribbean street fests and steel drums on “Para Ti, Para Mi” to synth-disco pulsed “Naked Pulse”> Her voice is bold, bright and earthy, giving extra soul to the poppish “What We Were” and heartfelt on the rollicking electronics of “Free”, multitracking voices with urgency on the Afro-centric “Werey Style”. There’s an alluring fold flavor the the reggae-ish “Give Me” and she’s encouraging and upbeat on the world music delight “Kilofe” . As with all things African, Abiola is able to weave a good story, and she delivers throughout, particularly on the fun “Feel This Good”. A lady to take a journey with!
