Best known for his work in solo clarinet, Glenn Dickson mixes electronics and loops with a klezmer-toned licorice stick on this meditative collection of calm cantorals.
Dickson’s clarinet mixes subtones and pad percussion on the shtetl’d “Pursuing Winds” while stretching out for 13 minutes on the chalumeau atmosphere of “Memories Lost”. He brings breathy sighs with recorded textures for 16 minutes on “Wider Than The Sky” and holds your attention throughout. A kind of mix of Eno and Eastern Europe takes place, combining sound-scapes and vocal like passions.
