Classically trained guitarist Nancy Goudinaki creates a gorgeous tapestry of acoustic sounds with a mix of originals and clever covers on this impressionistic album. She mixes formats, but always keeping it Spartan, soloing with rich textures on Iberian pieces like “Fuoco” and harplike for “El Ultimo Canto”, dramatically using space on her own “One Night In Calabria”. She adds ethereal vocals along with Devo D for the intimate Andalusian “La Cateral” and meditative “Feel Alive” with lyrics, while JD Allen brings in his warm tenor for a cry on the meditative title tune. Richie Goods’ electric bass adds to the dream effect of “Nereids”, and Goudinaki returns to a second read of the title tune with a MOOVtravel guitar for a pastoral closing of a luminous time of listening.
