French vocalist Camille Bertault teams up for a series of intuitive duets with p ianist David Helbock for material ranging from pop to noir. Bertault’s voice gives a late Billie Holiday artsy sound to the avant gard “Lonely Supamen” with piano stringed support, while she goes scatty on the peppy “Frevo”. Bertault taps into her inner chanteuse as Helbock’s ivories get nocturnal on”Good Morning Heartache” while “As Me Now” is a slow and stark chasson. Piano strings are harpsichorded for the haunting “New World” with Bertault going Lieder during “Das Fabelwesen”. Moods and atmospheres with instrumentation.
