Home spun Americana is produced by Scott Smith, who plays guitars, banjo and harmonica as he sings with Ashley Grant and is supported by John Sponarski/g, Brad Ferguson-Erik Nielsen-Jeremy Holmes/b, Liam Macdonald-Leon Power/dr, Matt Kelly/key, Meredith Bates/vi and Peggy Lee/cel. A couple of the tunes include semi rocking C&W reminiscent of the Flying Burrito Brothes suc as the steady “You’re Gonna Be OK”, “Queen of the Underground” and the Allman Brotherish “She’s The One”. The rest have Smith sounding a bit like early Jackson Brown for the rural “Leave to Come Home”, tender “Stars Burn Out” and the minstrel’d “Saw You Yesterday”. Tender traditional treasures.
