Eli Degibri: Henri and Rachel

Here is a tender paene by saxist Eli Degibri to the loving relationship between his parents Henri and Rachel. The albums opens with a recording of the parents’ voices, leading into Degibri’s loving melody “Henri and Rachel”, deftly supported by the team of Tom Oren/p, Alon Near/b and Eviatar Slivnik/dr with the album ending with a tender duet of the same tune with sax and piano. There is included a melancholic and blue “Noa” and a mellow p ost bopper of “Gargamel” introduced by Near with the leader’s tenor rich and vibrant. His soprano sparkles around Slivnik’s cymbals on “Longin” while the soft buildup of “Preaching to the Choir” is guided by Slivnik’s hand percussion. A glorious tribute to love in demonstrated in a family gathering.
