Clarinetist Sam Sadigursky teams up with accordionist Nathan Koci to tap into his inner Tribe, with this 3 disc set containing music of his Jewish heritage ranging from New York’s Borscht Belt, to vintage Klezmer and traditional Israeli folk. There is an intermingling of voices, with people telling stories of the Jewish Experience in a Gentile world as well, as on “Revolution Room”. The music ranges from a soft and dreamy “81 North” to a trudging sigh of “They Arrive” with even some Yiddish thrown in on “Pines Hora”. Some songs sound Eastern European traditional, while there is room for improvs as Koci signs on “Rose’s Hand Candles”. A journey through the shtetl.
