Lovely moods are created by Farzin Farhadi on the soprano and alto saxes, joined by his jazz team of Trey Henry/b and Christian Jacob/p along with the Allegria String Quartet directed by Benedikt Brydern. The strings add a rich texture, sometime harmonized in a Bartokian fashion with Farhadi’s soprano as on “The Cure” while at other times rich and Mozartian for his alto on “Blanck Rose”. Henry leads the strings in a tango on “After All” and Jacob is gentle for the lush “Moments” while the two get moody on “Ascent”. Farhadi’s alto is lovelyon the Eastern European “Love Unexpectedly” and graceful for the lyrical “Inside”. Chamber joys. .
