Consisting of matt Dibiase/perc, Chase Kuesel/dr, Max Bessesen/reeds and Evan Levine/b, the band Echoes create an album of deep and soulful grooves. Bessesen’s alto rides over the staccato’d beat on “Taylor” and creates sleek ripples over the big back beet of the quirky “JamFest”. Levine’s electric bass brings a soft intro the eventually builds up into a dramatic climax with the band on “Asbury’ and gets intricate with Kuesel on the funky “Flipbook”. Upbeat attitudes prevailon the rivulet of “Attics” with impressionistic moods floating on the waltzing “Wasted” and synthy soundscape of “Lasting”. Easy to digest.
