Osmond Chapman Orchestra: There’s More Where That Came From

Rat Pack vocalist David Osmond co-leads a swinging big band with alto saxist and musical director Caleb Chapman on this finger snapping mix of standards and originals. The brass is bold for Osmond on a Mel Torme-ish take of “The Way You Look Tonight” and the gang gets Bobby Darin hep on an upbeat take of “Smile” and the muted “Fly Me To The Moon”. Guitarist Jaxon Garrick brings some delicate tinkles to introduce the aria take of “Over the Rainbow” while rocking hard to the plunging trombones on the title track. Osmond gives a dramatic read to the blue “When I Was  Your Man” and swings hard to the backbeat on  his own “We Might As Well Fall In Love”. Fits like a Vegas tux, sharp and crisp.
