Kenny Carr creates rocking and jazzy soundscapes with is guitar and guitar synthesizer along with his keyboards as he leads a trio with Richie Morales/dr and Lincoln Goines/b through a collection of originals.
With the extra guitar textures, Carr can at times create twin ax effects like vintage Allman Brothers as he takes the sticks from Morales’ intro on “Springs” or the electric bass line on the Strat stretcher on the title tune. The rhythm team provides a upbeat backbeat for “Tune” and the metal synther “S Curve” while they dig a deep swamp for Carr’s sharp shovel on the bluesy “Arrival” and the high hat hitter “Primal Scream”. Carr makes the strings growl on the boogie-ing “Like Old Times” while showing excellent lyricism on the slow swaying “Until Then”. Electric glides in blue.
