Trumpeter Natsuki Tamura and pianist Satoko Fujii team up for seven intuitive compositions on this most recent release. The pieces include some unison lines of scales and cascades on “Busy Day” and bopping moods with gritty brass for “Sparrow Dance” with Fujii’s piano getting a bit classical toned fo the dark “Donten”. The two plod along with guttural blasts from Tamura on “Keshin” while he squeezes out notes from his mouthpiece on “Three Scenes.” Dots and dashes abound on this musical Morse Code.
