Bonnie Whitmore sounds like she just stepped onto the stage of the Moose Lodge, giving heart-on-sleeve emotions along with rootsy blues and ballads. She also plays bass, acoustic guitar and some cellos along with guitarist/horn arranger Scott Davis, drummer Craig Bagby, keyboardist Trevor Nealon and various guests on strings and horns. An a cappella intro leads into a fuzzy trudge on the sweaty title track, with dark tones mix with sweet voice on “None Of My Business”. A mercy-beat on “Fine” has her sway to the humming organ, with the team giving a chicka boom mixed with strings to the textured “Imaginary”. Some gospel-rock on “Flashes & Cables” and waltzing “George’s Lullaby” reveal a dash of Linda Ronstadt to this lady’s power, range and emotional punch.
