Electric guitar by Dan Bruce, teamed with nylon strings by Daniel Lippel, Aiden Plank’s bass and Nathan Douds’ drums create bluesy and pastoral sounds not unlike vintage Pentangle days. They put together a gentle and impressionistic “Quartet For Bela” with four concise pieces, while pretty pickings are in store on “For Manny” while the strings are nimble on “Free #2”. Chris Anderson brings in his trombone for a jagged “Hard Boiled Donut” and loose “Inner Androids” as Noah Even’s baritone sax rocks on “Adaptation Dance”. Folksy frets.
