Guitarist, vocalist and founder Ken Simmonds continues to wave the Savoy Brown flag after 50 years with his team of Pat DeSalvo/b and Garnet Grimm/dr on decalogue of blues. He shows his tasty chops and style on the instrumental “Crying Guitar” while taking a rural rode on the slide for “Rocking In Louisiana.” Some 70s boogie blues rock out on “Borrowed Time” and the team shuffles hard on the title pieces. Simmonds’ voice is as leathery as a catcher’s mitt, working well on the ZZ Top-ish “Jaguar Car” and giving a 60s feel to “All Gone Wrong”. His acoustic work is sweet on ”River On The Rise” and his pickings are clean for “Feel Like A Gypsy”. A road well travelled.
