A trio led by Swedish guitarist Ulf Wakenius and teamed with bassist Lars Danielsson with drummer Magnus Ostrom give tribute to Sir Paul McCartney’s pen with some clever takes of tune’s he composed or was associated with when he was with a quartet called The Beatles. The three are spacious on “A Taste Of Honey” while they chime and dance together as they wing it on “Jet”. Wakenius gets funky on “Maybe I’m Amazed” and Ostrum’s brushes make for a sleek road on “You Never Give Me Your Money”. Some parlor piano takes place on “Yes To You” and a reflective “She’s Leaving Home” while danielsson lurks through a suave “Besame Mucho” and is pizzicato’d perfectly on “Eleanor Rigby”. Oh, Darling!
