Brian Tarquin takes his Grammy winning bass and guitar work to team up with a team mixing and matching with Hal Lindes/ag, Reggie Pryonr/dr, Rick Mullen/b, Trey Gunn/b, Greg Morrow/dr, Chris Ingram/key-b, Brandon Miller/b, Steve Morse/g and string programming by Timo Spekkens to create a hard hitting mix of sweeping moods and heavy metal madness.
A couple of the tunes have guitar clarion calls a la vintage Boston as on the thematic “Tomorrow’s Another Day” and bright “Know Me” with the strong vocal chops of Phil Naro. Big hair rock reminiscent of searing Scorpion guitar solos are prevalent on the dark “Demonic” and driving “Lights of Las Vegas” along with “Hallowed Grown” featuring Trey Gunn’s hot white poker of a bass. Lyrical moments are synth produced on “Forgiveness” while the wondrous “Distant Light” a gorgeous panoramic journey complete with programmed strings and sweeping soundscapes. Tarquin’s solos at times give a flair similar to Santana on the clarion “Evil In Men’s Eye” while he’s misty on the hovering title track. Progressive metal moments.
