Nicolas Meier plays a wide variety of acoustic guitars with a warm accompanying collection of Kevin Glasgow/b, Richard Jones/vi and Demi Garcia/perc on a travelogue of original tunes. He takes a journey to the Middle East with his oud-sounding glissentar for a mystical “Princes’ Islands”, a moody and misty “Peaceful” and a djembe’d journey on “Caravan of Anatolia.” Aegean breezes are created on “The Island” with rich support by Jones on the pretty “Besiktas Café” and a trip to the Cumberland Gap on the traditional sounding “Soho Square.” Uplifting and encouraging.
