Erik Applegate and Time Child featuring Ingrid Jensen: Woodstock!

Bassist Erik Applegate sounds inspired by the 50th Anniversary of the famed Woodstock festival on this jazzed up tribute to “three days of peace and music.” Along with a couple originals, Applegate does justice to some of the songs performed at the festival, even including the dates they were produced.

Of the originals, “This Garden” has a hippie soul of a fell with vocals by Julian Carey and Julia Dollison, with some rocking keyboards by Dana Landry” and guitar soloing from Steve Kovalcheck.” Ingrid Jenson brings soul to the electronic “Sweetwater” while she is bold on an exciting take of “Suite: Judy Blue Eyes.” Drummer Jim White and tenor saxist Kenyon Brenner team up with some synth work to make “I Want To Take You Higher” sound like vintage plugged in Miles Davis along with Carey’s vocals, wile Kelsey Shiba gets deep on Richie Havens’ “I’m A Stranger Here.” A lot of hippie as well as hip is created here.
