Fraudprophets: Poptosis

Delegation is pretty simple on this album, as Nate Morton plays drums, Matt Rohde sits at the Hammond B3 for a handful of tracks, and Sean Halley plays “Everything Else” for essentially all intents and purposes on this fusion fest. Blues, bass, guitar and backbeat dominate pieces like “I Think I Just Said That” and the hip lined “Scrubs” with a dash of Caribbean fell on the elastic “Moths and Mosquitoes.” Oz Noy joins in for a track to add a head banging guitar solo for the  heavy handed “The Phlebotomist” and Snarky Puppy saxist Bob Reynolds gives a spacious texture to the winning “Sad People Music.” Sounds akin to Deep Purple create a Machine Headed “Skronktastic” and even some bluegrass pops up on “Two Steps Back.” A power duo?
