Romain Collins takes his piano, electronics and keyboards on a series of diverse journeys, teaming with drummer Obed Calvaire, and sometimes joining with strings from the pen of Kazuma Jinnouchi. The result is an album that at times goes from Eno-mooded pastels (“There Will Be Blood”, “Reprise”, “Tiny Lights That Move and Speak”) to metal moods as on “Los Angeles” and “Follow.” In between are some marvelously lyrical piano moments, sometimes with silky strings (“Dark Matter” and “Repeat And Fade”), with all of the tunes handing off a baton for the following mood. A dreamer and romantic at heart comes through all of the nuances.
