Consisting of Amy Boone/voc, Cory Gray/key-tp, Tucker Jackson/stg, Sean Oldham/perc-voc, Freddy Trujillo/b-voc, Willy Vlautin/g-voc and guests on horns, strings and guitars, the Delines mix vintage 50s rock moods with a country/rockabilly feel. Boone has a nice lilt to her voice, mixing indie with C&W on “Cheer Up Charley” and the 60s twanger “Eddie & Polly.” Some Duane Eddy likcs are picked on “That Old Haunted Place” and a stark echoey “Where Are You Sonny?”. A swampy love story on “Let’s Be Us Again” is most successful, as is the soulful gospel read of “He Don’t Burn For Me.” Right at the border of the Cumberland Gap.
