Best known for his drum work for Todd Rundgren and Iggy Pop back in the day, Hunt Sales is featured on this latest album of 12 tunes that includes raspy vocals, STAXY R&B (“I Can’t Stop,” “Magik”), vintage 50s rock riffs (“Shimekra’s Got the Hook Up”) and boogie-ing beats (“Way On My Own”). He hits the sticks hard throughout, as on the steady “Here I Go Again” and the banging “It Ain’t Easy” with the cowbell having a field day on the swampy and thick “I Can’t Stop.” A heavy metal kid, indeed!
