Eraldo Bernocchi: Like A Fire That Consumes All Before It

Playing guitars, treated guitars and various electronics, Eraldo Bernocchi 18 tone poems of various sonic landscapes. Sometimes the electronics have a pianistic effect as on the melodic “From a Distance” and “Like I wasn’t There” with “White” mixing keyboard tones with electric bass lines. Much of the remaining pieces are like electronic wallpaper, with a dreamy “to Make Things Float” ambient “A Letter and a Place” and a gently  pulsating “The Silver Laugh.” The most “guitarish” of songs are the lumbering “A Crack in Time” and “1-10” of Happiness” with most of the time the event a mix of Fripp and Kraftwerk.
