Guitarist Dan Adler leads a cooly swinging quartet with Arnon Palty/b, Donald Vega/p and Byron Landham/dr through a decalogue of uptown originals. Adler’s got a Herb Ellis cleanliness to his town, with a similar pulse as he lithely bops in unison with Vega on “House Is What” and gets bluesy on “Oat and Boat.” The team has fun on the Latin “I Just Did” with Vega leading the way to a modal mood on a cantering “Forget Me Not.” Easy and relaxed, keeping the toes tapping throughout.
