Trudy Lynn delivers the ribs drippin’ off the bone with the sauce biting the corners of your mouth on this gritty and fun blues basher. You can tell she grew up in the church as she preaches it from the pulpit herself along with Steve Krase/harp, David Carter/g, Terry Dry/b, Matt Johnson/dr, Randy Wall/p-org, Dan Carpenter/sax, Jim Brady/tp and a couple cameo guests. Lynn growls it out with Krase’s wailing harp and Bob Lanza’s searing guitar on “Blues Ain’t Nothin’” and “Pitiful.” She stomps with Wall during “That’s Alright” and boogaloos on “Blues Keep Knocking” while the B3 honky tonks thorugh a fun read of “Never Been to Spain.” Voice and harp snarl together on “I Sing the Blues” and the band boogies on “Would It Make Any Difference to You.” I gotta see this lady in concert, or at least sit next to her in a pew. WHEW!
