Alex Conde: Origins

Pianist/composer Alex Conde delivers a wide rang of Latin moods, styles and dances with his band of Luques Curtis/b, Marcus Gilmore/dr, Guillermo Barron/caj, Brian Lynch/tp, Contrad Herwig/tb Dayna Stephens/ts-ss and a collection of guests. Lots of hand claps and sizzling percussion takes place on galloping pieces such as “Bulerijazz” with sensuouls vices by Alejandro Conde Sr and Ismael Fernandez on “La Leyenda Del Tiempo” and “ Solea De Ismael” respectively. The timbales by Camilo Molina canter as Conde dances with Curtis on the minor mooded “Jungle Street” and the two do some luscious melody during the gentle “The Great  Priest.” The horns assert themselves on “Spring Break” with Stephens’ soprano bringing exotic moods to “Descarga Por Bulerias.” This is a fun one!
