Sensuous vocalist Alexandra Jackson brings in jazz and Brazilian artists both past and present on this smoothly delivered 2 disc set. Artists ranging from Ivan Lins, Hubie Laws and even bringing in old recordings from Tom Jobim and Miles Davis to serve as cameo performances make it on stage. Of the latter, Davis and Jobim vintage sessions team up with The Bossa Nova Noites Orchestra and Ivan Lins to back up Jackson on a sighing “Corcovado” while Lins duets with Ms. Jackson on a cozy “Anjo De Mim.” The dreamy samba “Labirintos” features Laws on a feathery flute, while the band gets R&Bish with the late Al Jarreau teamingwith Larry Williams on keys and flute on “All One.” The sounds are all earthy and fun, focusing on rich production and cheerful tones. Not a bad combo for this summer breeze of a session.
